Rise by the River to Stop Line 3
As soon as the spring melt comes to the rivers of northern Minnesota, Enbridge is poised to drill their Line 3 pipeline under the headwaters of the Mississippi. President Biden can stop this. We need to make clear to this administration what leading on climate means — building a world where water is sacred, treaties with Native nations are respected, and where rural communities have access to safe and sustainable jobs.
Join us in St. Paul or online as we Rise by the Mississippi to Stop Line 3! We will gather as one voice to sing, pray, give thanks. And we will be invited to act — to dig deeper into what’s needed and to listen to the call from the Indigenous Water Protectors and allies who are putting their bodies on the pipeline to disrupt construction.
Attend in person:
Come to St. Paul if you can! Meet at the Scenic Overlook park along Mississippi River Blvd. S. (across from Temple of Aaron) for a family-friendly rally at 3:00. We’ll then march south along the river and cross the Ford Parkway bridge to Minneapolis.
Street parking is available in the St. Paul neighborhoods near the overlook and Ford Parkway. Masks and social distancing are expected of all attendees. Bring art and signs. Wear warm clothes and rain boots for whatever weather Minnesota will throw at us. The march from the overlook and across the bridge is about 0.9 miles one-way.
We’ll also be streaming on Facebook Live. This special broadcast is the featured US event for Sacred People, Sacred Earth — the largest grassroots, multi-faith global day of action for climate justice. Millions will be joining us in solidarity and adding the weight of their voice and attention in our call to the Biden administration and our pressure on the financial backers of Enbridge.
