DESCRIPTION:As insurance companies claim that the climate crisis is eating into their billions of dollars in profits\, they are finding discriminatory ways to extract more money from people with lower incomes\, young people\, and people of color. \nInsurance companies are consistently using credit scores to determine rates rather than risk\, charging people with worse credit – people who are disproportionately low-income\, people of color\, young people\, or people who live in multiunit housing – significantly higher rates. \nInsurance companies are subsidizing the rates of high-income customers on the backs of people who can least afford it. \nJoin us for this conversation with legislators to talk about the impacts of these policies on Minnesotans and what we can do legislatively to end this predatory practice. \nCLICK HERE TO RSVP!
