DESCRIPTION:Join us for this open-to-the-public Sacred Sites Tour! \nSacred Sites Tours invite us to learn the history and importance of these sacred sites\, to reflect on our own roles in the continuing systems of colonization and extraction\, and to develop plans for future action on reparation and repair. Participants move beyond just learning about the history of these places and into a deeper relationship with their own responsibility for honoring\, protecting\, and repairing our relationship with these places and the Indigenous people who originated here. \nSpots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. This tour is meant for individuals or groups of less than 4. SUMMARY:Healing Democracy 2026 Kick-Off
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Our 2026 Healing Democracy Kick-Off\, a statewide initiative of the Movement Chaplain Network in partnership with MNIPL. \nWith the 2026 election coming up\, we are partnering together to find ways to support our communities in feeling grounded\, safe\, and supported in the time before\, during\, and after this upcoming election. We will be offering training and support for three different ways to get involved\, all of which are available to everyone\, clergy or not: \nPoll Chaplaincy: For five years\, trained Poll Chaplains have brought calm\, nonpartisan care to election spaces in Minnesota. Poll Chaplains accompany people in and around the voting experience. They offer a calm\, compassionate presence\, help lower tension\, connect people with trusted resources when needed\, and make space for the hope\, pride\, and joy that are also part of participating in democracy. \nDigital Democracy: Digital Chaplains bring grounded\, caring presence into the online spaces and relationships they already inhabit. They listen\, offer support\, share trustworthy resources\, and help people navigate fear\, uncertainty\, and difficult moments with care. You don’t need to be clergy\, a tech expert\, or an influencer. Anyone\, anywhere can participate. \nCare Communities: Help your community of faith\, conscience\, religious or spiritual practice become a place of care. Community Care Teams equip congregations and other communities to care for their people and neighbors before\, during\, and after the election. Together\, communities identify the relationships\, spaces\, spiritual practices\, and gifts they already have and build a plan for offering grounded\, compassionate care when it is needed most. \nJoin us to learn more about these different tactics and how you can help. DESCRIPTION:Join building leaders from dozens of communities of faith\, conscience\, or spiritual practice across the greater Twin Cities Metro to learn about geothermal systems and how viable they are for decarbonizing your congregation’s building demands and lowering your heating and cooling costs. Experts Robert Ed and Paolo Spiern will present on key topics\, and Art Halbardier will give a tour of the geothermal system that Mount Olive installed ten years ago. Whether you are new to geothermal or have been around the block a few times\, you’ll find this session useful for your next step as someone who cares about your community’s buildings and climate justice.\n\nThis is the third gathering of the Congregation Energy Collaboration\, a growing group of building leaders and volunteers aiming to lower energy use and carbon emissions and realize financial savings\, a healthier planet\, and a more just society. MNIPL is facilitating this group in direct response to MNIPL congregations who recommended this approach.
