DESCRIPTION:Together\, we will connect\, learn\, pray\, engage\, play\, celebrate\, and honor the spirit of water. This year’s event spans two days! \nNow in its third year\, Spirit of Water highlights the care and responsibility involved in protecting and sharing valuable waterways\, like Mississippi River. Our focus centers on themes of gratitude\, celebration\, unity\, the commonality of water as a presence in our lives\, reverence\, respect\, and honor for all that is sacred. \nOn Friday\, July 25\, we will meet at United Theological Seminary ’s campus (or online) from 3:00–5:30 PM CT for an educational afternoon and evening. Afternoon workshops will focus on water protection\, ecological justice\, and more. After the sessions\, we will offer a light dinner for participants. \nIn the evening\, starting at 7:00 PM\, we will hear from two scientists and Anishinaabeg leaders in climate justice work: Leanna Goose\, a co-facilitator of the Rise & Repair Coalition\, and Dawn Goodwin\, co-founder of R.I.S.E. Coalition. They will speak about issues related to climate justice\, water protection\, and Indigenous water rights. \nOn Saturday\, July 26\, we will meet at Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul from 1:00–5:00 PM. DESCRIPTION:Sun Day is a nationwide day of action on September 21\, 2025\, celebrating solar and wind power\, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. We all know that clean energy is the only way. Solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet – and gives us a chance to actually do something about the climate crisis. But fossil fuel billionaires are doing everything they can to shut it down. We will build\, rally\, sing\, and come together in the communities that we need to get laws changed and work done. \nHere in Minnesota\, the Twin Cities’ Sun Day festival will feature inspiring music\, theatrical performances\, interactive activities\, and exhibits\, where the “solar-curious” (including families) can have fun while also exploring options for their own participation in the clean-energy revolution.  \nWe’re very excited to be holding the festival at Graco Park\, Minneapolis’ newest park\,  located on the Mississippi River in NE Minneapolis\, with nearby parking\, bus lines\, and bike and walking paths. The festival will be one of the park’s first big events. It’s an ideal location for a Sun Day festival. Understanding that history can reveal what’s possible for political action today at the local\, state\, or federal level. \nJoin MNIPL and Ben Kodres-O’Brien\, who will share his insights about the industry’s history—and how that history could or could not inform efforts of policymakers\, activists\, and other changemakers in Minnesota and beyond. \nBen is a PhD Candidate at Columbia University. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a gathering of the Community Climate Resilience Network (CCRN) to talk about how we can build our resilience through supporting each other in times of crisis. \nIn the face of the violence and violation of rights in our communities\, we know that many of our community climate resilience hubs have been bringing people together\, coordinating support\, and trying to keep their communities safe. We are learning in real time what it truly means to serve as hubs of resilience in a time of crisis. \nKelly Sherman-Conroy\, Native theologian and community leader\, and Terri Burnor\, Executive Director of the Minnesota Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Alliance\, will join us in a conversation and invitation into action\, and you will have the opportunity to share and learn from your peers about what we’re trying and what more we can do.
