SUMMARY:November Reparations Learning Lab: Relationships
DESCRIPTION:For 2024-2025\, we are offering monthly\, hour-long\, interactive sessions on Zoom that invite people into deeper reflection\, work\, and action towards repair and reparation. The November session will focus on relationships. \nThese sessions are intended for white-bodied people from across different identities\, lineages\, traditions\, and geographies who are already committed to the work of repair and reparation\, and who want to continue to learn\, grow\, and build community. We will focus on moving from ideas towards action\, and on building personal\, collective\, and systemic reparations practices. Black\, Indigenous\, Brown\, and Native folks and other people of color are also welcome to join. \nCLICK HERE TO SIGN UP!\nWe have three asks and expectations as part of your commitment to this work together: \n\nWatch our “Reparations: What are They?” session so that we can all arrive with a shared foundation and set of concepts. \nConsider making a financial contribution of any amount that is meaningful and sustainable to you to support our Black & Native Advisory Table. Our Black & Native partners offer accountability\, support\, and solidarity\, and it matters that we compensate their time and talent. Every dollar donated through this page goes to the amazing activists who are guiding us towards authentic change.\nConsider becoming a sustaining donor of MNIPL with a monthly contribution of any amount. \n\nMNIPL provides our reparations programming free of charge\, and we can only make that possible with your support and participation.

It has saved her life multiple times\, and she seeks to pass that favor on through her singing and playing. She performs on guitar and Irish Bouzouki\, and sings proudly through the lens of her lived experience as a transwoman. \nMJ performs a wide-ranging repertoire of curated and embodied music\, with inspiration ranging from the Decemberists to Bon Iver to Ezra Furman to Celtic folks music\, along with the occasional original song. She is also deeply connected to the music of her Jewish culture\, embodying music from Eastern Europe to Morocco and Yemen\, and to the United States. \nProfessionally\, MJ has been a social worker and social work educator for the last 32 years\, and has sought to bring music into her practice as a way to create connections of heart and spirit. MJ’s singing is guaranteed to give you the feels. \nWild Voice Chorus\n \nWild Voice Chorus is a community choir for folks who love to sing in harmony. Led by Sarina Partridge\, Wild Voice sings music from many harmony traditions\, which Sarina has studied with master teachers and tradition bearers around the world—Bulgarian\, Georgian\, Yiddish\, South African\, Corsican\, Shapenote\, and original songs. \nWild Voice is a community built around the enlivening power of raising our voices together! \n\nThank you to our event sponsors!\n \n           Abbie Schain \n
