Environmental Justice is what I have chosen for my life’s work. Growing up I knew I loved the outdoors and felt a special connection to nature. As I advanced in my education, I felt called to pursue issues that related to the intersectionality of the climate and justice crises. We cannot have environmental justice if we do not have social justice as well. Humans are intrinsically tied to nature, our common home, though not everyone is allowed the same comforts nature can provide due to the deep systematic oppression in this country. My educational background with a BA in Peace Studies with a focus in Environmental Justice and a minor in Hispanic Studies has laid the foundation; now is time to do the work.
