Testifying for Diversity Metrics from Utilities

Rep. Ruth Richardson and Sen. Foung Hawj introduced HF49/SF315 to require energy grantees and utilities to track diversity metrics. This legislation aligns with the “Climate Goals and Truth Telling” category of our 2023 Legislative Agenda and is an important step towards equal access to solar and energy efficiency jobs.

On January 17, 2023, Joshua Lewis, MNIPL Climate Organizer, testified before the House Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee in support of HF49. Watch Joshua’s testimony here. We thank Rep. Richardson and Sen. Hawj for their leadership in this important work.
